Born during the challenges of the pandemic and sustained through resilience and self-financing, the company built its first AI models to help enterprises predict and prevent customer churn.
By 2023, these models achieved up to 70% accuracy in the energy sector, proving the impact of predictive AI in real-world business scenarios. With this success, Backwell Tech began expanding internationally, securing investment, and scaling its platform to cover pricing, customer lifetime value, and explainable AI.
Today, headquartered in Berlin, Backwell Tech is a growing European scale-up, employing more than 20 experts in AI technology and business. It delivers predictive and transparent AI solutions that drive profitability for industries worldwide.
Maximilian Gismondi
Maximilian Gismondi founded Backwell Tech in 2019 with a single conviction: that AI would only reach its potential in enterprise when it could explain itself.
He self-funded the company through the pandemic, building the first working models without external capital. By 2023, Backwell's predictive accuracy achieved extraordinary performance in the energy sector. By 2025, its application had expanded to the food distribution and manufacturing sectors.
Today Backwell Tech employs a team of engineers, data scientists, and commercial experts operating from Berlin with clients across Europe.
